What kind of food is included in the co-op food charges?
Ambrosia Cooperative House
Ambrosia offers delicious, [nearly] nightly omnivorous, usually organic, ethnic, often local foods, almost always with a vegetarian option and often with a vegan option. We really love food in this house! We take pride in serving up nutritious and oh-so yummy foods.
Included in our co-op food charges is dinner Monday - Saturday at 6 pm and Sunday brunch at 12 noon. For just $100 per month, a food co-oper has access to house foods which our dedicated and experienced food buyer carefully selects items from Willy St. Coop, Dane Co. Farmer's Market, Albert's Organics, UNFI, and local farms/sources. Members always have a say in what foods we stock.
Come eat with us!

Friends' Cooperative House
Vegetarian items such as vegetables, fruits, beans, pasta, and rice. Yogurt, Milk, eggs, and cheese are often purchased but not necessarily available 100% of the time. Many of our food items are vegan and depending on the make-up of the house, more specific vegan items may be purchased.
Hypatia Cooperative House
Flour, beans, rice, couscous, fresh produce (fruit and vegetables), milk, soy milk, oil, condiments, baking supplies, etc.
A member or food co-oper can request any food item and it will be purchased if we can afford it.
We do not buy meat as a house although individuals can if they wish. Currently the majority of our house eats meat and will purchase it as a group. However, house food money is not spent on meat.
